rock and roll easter

music is an amazing thing! it's one thing to experience the power of words but it's another thing to take those powerful words and unite them with melody, harmony and rhythm! music has the ability to convey feelings and ideas that words themselves simply cannot convey.

today is easter sunday and this morning we had the awesome priviledge of singing our guts out to God because the tomb is empty, he is risen and as a result our lives will never be the same. easter is a day you just have to rock out! when you realize the gravity of the empty tomb and what it means for us, you can't help but celebrate!

this morning i came across this quote that reminded me of the significance of a rock and roll easter. "roll the rock and keep it rolling: a true witness of resurrection is an agent of resurrection." the rock was rolled away from the tomb! jesus is alive! as his followers our lives are forever changed! the resurrection lives on in us and that's reason to celebrate... not just today but every day!

have a rock and roll easter and keep the rock rolling every day of the year! be agents of the resurrection!

your piece of the puzzle

Perhaps when we open up a box containing a large jigsaw puzzle and examine the pieces, we might be tempted to think that some of the pieces are less interesting and less significant than the others. But have you ever put together a jigsaw puzzle and found in the end that you were missing just one or two pieces? Suddenly, what may have seemed uninteresting and insignificant, becomes extremely important. The picture isn't complete without all of the pieces in their place and it becomes blatantly obvious to anyone who looks at it.

We might consider that God's plan for our world is much like this jigsaw puzzle. God has created each one of us with a plan and a purpose for our lives. Each of us has a unique contribution to make to our world and no one else has the same abilities, skills, personality, relationships, etc. to fill our place.

Often we may feel like we have nothing of significance to offer, or that it isn't necessary for us to step up to the plate because someone else will do it. But the reality is, much like the unfinished puzzle, when we fail to fulfill our role, the overall picture (God's plan) remains incomplete.

What role has God created fill?

Are you doing your part?
